On May 8, 2007 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted another meeting in the series of regular meetings of the human resources managers in the framework of its program – “Public Policy Knowledge Network”.
Ms. Diana Asatiani, Head of the Personnel Affairs Department at the Parliament of Georgia, led the meeting in which she and her staff members talked about projects and issues they have been dealing with in the process of reforming personnel management methodology and policies at the Parliament of Georgia. With more than 25 years of work and experience in the area of human resources management, Ms. Asatiani is an expert in the field with the ability to identify and address the most pressing needs and issues.
The presentation covered topics such as writing job descriptions, rules of competition and attestation, organizing internship programs, test development, qualification requirements and personnel databases, amongst others. The event was attended by heads of various human resources departments and other professionals from nine different Georgian ministries and governmental agencies, many of them are either currently working on these issues or starting to develop similar policies at their relevant institutions.
