On February 7, 2007 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a meeting of leading Georgian experts working on conflict resolution issues. The roundtable was organized in the scope of the project “Civil society participation in European Neighborhood Policy – a regional approach to conflict resolution”. It focused on three main issues: new developments – national and international aspects; main obstacles to the conflict resolution; what Georgians could offer to the other side. Following the introductory remarks by Mr. Merab Antadze, State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues, the experts identified various problems in the peace process and offered different ways for their solution. In the course of the meeting, Mr. Göran Lennmarker, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, joined the roundtable and exchanged ideas with the Georgian experts.
The project “Civil society participation in European Neighborhood Policy – a regional approach to conflict resolution” is implemented by the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, in partnership with the Crisis Management Initiative (Brussels) and supported by the British Government.
