This is a special issue of the Rondeli Russian Military Digest dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War, composed on the basis of numerous open sources.
Russians were unable to make any notable territorial gains during the reported period. Fighting continued in some areas of the frontline, with Ukrainians conducting local counterattacks in some of them.
Kyiv-Chernihiv Area A lot of fighting occurred northwest and west of Kyiv, both sides conducting attacks in various parts of this area. Irpen-Bucha-Gostomel area continued to be a scene of incessant battles. Russians also attempted to push towards the town of Malyn 80 kilometers northwest of Kyiv. Ukrainians threatened communications of Russians forces operating in the Irpen-Bucha-Gostomel area, stabilized their control over the town of Makariv after repelling Russian counterattacks, and attacked Russians southeast of Makariv on the Kyiv-Zhytomyr highway. No major changes occurred in the areas of Chernihiv and Brovary.

Kharkiv-Sumy Area No major changes occurred in Kharkiv-Sumy area. Occasional fighting continued near Kharkiv. Battles were also reported near the Russian-occupied town of Trostyanets 40 kilometers south of Sumy.
Donbas Area Russians continues their attacks in the areas of towns of Izyum and Vuhledar, and along the old Donbas frontline near Mar’inka, Avdiivka, Verkhnotoretske and Popasna. Fighting also continued in Rubizhne which remained divided between the two opposing sides, as did Izyum. Russian attacks were not successful during the reported period in any of these areas.
Siege of Mariupol Heavy battles continued in the streets of Mariupol. Russians were not able to make any notable territorial progress within the city.

Black Sea Area Fighting continued east, southeast and south of Mykolaiv. Ukrainian forces made some territorial progress in this area, and repelled a Russian counterattack on the town of Oleksandrivka 25 kilometers south of Mykolaiv.
No notable changes occurred in Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia area. |
