On 31th of October, 2018 Rondeli Foundation and the University of Birmingham, UK in cooperation with the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) Cyprus Centre organized a joint workshop on “Dealing with Conflicts: Lessons from and for Georgia”.

In the wake of the recent 10-year anniversary of the August 2008 war, the workshop aimed at discussing the challenges of the post 2008 reality in Georgia and the situation in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region, and to see whether some of these issues and questions can be addressed through lessons learnt by other similar conflicts.

The academics, international experts, local stakeholders and representatives of governmental, international organizations and foreign missions participated in the workshop. The opening remarks were made by the British Ambassador to Georgia, H.E. Justin McKenzie Smith.
