This is a special issue of the Rondeli Russian Military Digest dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War, composed on the basis of numerous open sources.
Svatove-Starobilsk Area and Donbas Area – North Intense fighting was taking place directly south of Kreminna.
Donbas Area – Northeast Russians took most of Soledar with the Ukrainians resistance continuing on its northwestern outskirts. North of Soledar, Russians were attacking in the directions of Silj and Rozdolivka. North of Bakhmut, Russians took Pidhorodne after an intense fight for the village, and developed an attack towards Krasna Hora and Paraskoviivka. Heavy fighting was taking place in the area of these two villages. Heavy fighting continued on Bakhmut’s eastern and southern outskirts. In Opytne, Ukrainians retained presence only on this village’s northern and northwestern outskirts. South of Bakhmut, heavy fighting with unclear results was taking place in Klishchiivka.

Donbas Area – Southeast Fighting without major changes was taking place in Pervomaiske and near Avdiivka.
Zaporizhzhia Area and Donbas Area – South South of Hulyaipole, villages Dorozhnyanka and Myrne turned out to have been taken by Russians earlier in January 2023. |
