Donbas Area – North and Oskil River Area

Ukrainians liberated the city of Lyman on 1 October. Russian forces fled from the city and its area while being nearly encircled, suffering heavy casualties as a result.

East of Lyman, Ukrainians liberated the towns of Zarichne and Torske.

Crossing the Zherebets River, Ukrainian forces liberated TernyYampolivka and Nevske, then advancing towards Kreminna, approaching it from the northwest, and threatening to cut the Svatove-Kreminna road.

On the eastern bank of the Oskil River, Ukrainians liberated the town of Borova and several villages to the east and south of it.

Ukrainians broke through the Russian defenses east of Kupyansk, liberating Kurylivka, advancing east of it, and approaching the line of villages Orlyanske-Ivanivka-Kysilivka.

These successes of the Ukrainian forces, taken together, created a considerable threat for the centers of Russian defense in Svatove and Kreminna.

Ukrainians achieved a breakthrough on the northeastern end of the frontline in this area along the Dnipro River, liberating about a dozen villages and approaching the line of Dudchany-Chervone. In the Inhulets River breakthrough area, Ukrainians unsuccessfully attacked Russian forces in Davydiv Brid from the side of Bilohirka.
