On December 17, 2008, the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, within the cooperation of the Georgian Security Analysis Center, hosted a public seminar – “Rebuilding Georgian Armed Forces”. The chairman of the seminar was Professor Alexander Rondeli, President of the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies. The participants were LTC Robert E. Hamilton, U.S. Army Fellow, Center for Strategic and International Studies; Mr. Batu Kutelia, Former First Deputy Minister of Defense; and Ambassador David J. Smith, Director of Georgian Security Analysis Center.
The panel discussion was about the condition of the Georgian Armed Forces after Russian aggression, what is being done and what are main challenges and plans for the future. The seminar was attended by the representatives of the Government, NGOs, foreign diplomatic missions as well as the foreign experts.
