On April 30, Rondeli Foundation hosted a roundtable discussion on “Involvement of the Women from the Regions in Social and Political Processes” with participation of active women from different regions and representatives of various political parties.
The participants discussed daily challenges hindering women’s active engagement in the social and political processes of their respective regions and the state in general. The roundtable attendeestouched upon the issues of women’s rights in the regions, their economic vulnerability, the early marriage problem, societal clichés related to women’s political activism in different regions, and other important themes. The participating actors also discussed the importance of gender quotas for women’s empowerment. The representatives of political parties presented their vision on how they intend to deal with the mentioned challenges within their respective party platforms.
The roundtable discussion was held within the framework of the project “Supporting Free and Fair Elections Cycle in Georgia”.
