On September 16, 2016 the Coalition for Euro-Atlantic Georgia organized a political debates “Elections 2016 – Security Sector Reform” at Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, Tbilisi. Leaders and representatives of Goergian political parties participated in the debate. During the meeting, they presented their visionს on development and reformation of national security sector. They also discussed current state of Georgia’s national security sector and future plans of its development. 
The political debates were focused on three main directions, such as National security sector reform, its institutional and legislative components, as well as relevant democratic control mechanisms; The perspectives of transformation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service; The national defence system reform/transformation, perspectives of achieving desired level of NATO interoperability and modernization by Georgian Armed Forces.
The representatives of member organizations of the Coalition like Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, Atlantic Council of Georgia, Transparency International Georgia as well as other participating experts/academics commented on the current state of national security sector, its most acute shortcomings and reformation necessities, and posed relevant questions to the participating political parties’ leaders. 
The event was attended by Diplomatic Corps and Media representatives.
The political debated was supported by by the East-West Management Institute’s “Advancing CSO Capacities and Engaging Society for Sustainability” Project (ACCESS).
