On March 25, 2015 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) hosted a Polish – Georgian Expert Seminar “Georgia after Signature of the AA with the EU: Reforms and Security Challenges’ assessment”.
The event was organized by the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) in partnership with the Embassy of Poland in Georgia and GFSIS.
High-ranking officials and experts representing the two countries, as well as the representatives of international community and civil society attended the event.
The welcoming remarks were made by Dr. Alexander Rondeli, President of GFSIS and Dr Marcin Zaborowski, Director of PISM. The opening addresses were delivered by Ms. Tamar Beruchashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland H.E. Andrzej Cieszkowski. The Georgian Foreign Minister and the Ambassador welcomed the initiative of holding the timely seminar, and underlined the need of work between the Polish and Georgian partners.
During the seminar Georgian and Polish experts discussed the developments following the signature of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement: relations with NATO and EU, security situation in the region, ongoing challenges and issues related to Georgia’s occupied territories.
