On July 21, 2016 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) organized the panel discussion “Russian Information and Cyber Warfare Threats”.
The discussion addressed the strategic communication of the European Union, Russian information and cyber warfare and was focused on countering anti Western propaganda, the Russian doctrine, current developments, possible future trends, growing interest in western infrastructure, formation of military cyber troops, the non-state actors in service of the Russian state and more.
The discussion was moderated by Giorgi Targamadze, Senior Fellow and the Director of the Media Centre (GFSIS). The speakers included Mikolaj Bekasiak, Project Manager at the Delegation of European Union, Amb. Nikoloz Vashakidze, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Dr. Khatuna Mshvidobadze, Senior-Fellow (GFSIS) and Professor of Cybersecurity (Utica College, NY).
The representatives of expert community, governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as diplomatic corps attended the event.
The discussion was followed by Q&A period between the speakers and the audience.
