On 12-15 November, 2018 under the framework of the project: “Supporting the Economic Development of Georgian Rural Areas” representatives of Rondeli Foundation and Jaan Tõnisson Institute, Estonia, conducted meetings with local tourism entrepreneurs in Jokolo, Khulo and Akhalkalaki. The project partners also met the representatives of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara A. R., and Georgian Incoming Tour Operators Association.

The project aims to support the economic development of Georgian rural areas – Mountainous Ajaria, Javakheti and Pankisi Gorge, by decreasing the socioeconomic disparities between Georgian regions and increasing their welfare.

As part of the project, international experts will develop region-specific / cross-region tourism products and routes. It is also planned to support increasing the capacity and capability of tourism entrepreneurs in the regions by organizing seminars in the spring and autumn of 2019.

The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.
