The first signs of “borderization” appeared as early as in 2009 and the process itself began in 2011, having intensified from 2013. “Borderization” implies the installation of artificial barriers, fences, barbed wires, so-called border signs, trenches and so-called fire lines, creating in its entirety a so-called occupation line which subsumes new territories.

The interactive map created by the Rondeli Foundation contains open-source information on the facts related to “borderization,” including video and photographic materials. The map shows the dates when the “borderization” of a particular section took place and provides an insight on the dynamics of the “borderization” process.

Moreover, the map is adaptive which means that new cases of “borderization” will be incorporated.
