On December 16, 2015 the Georgian Foundation for strategic and international Studies (GFSIS) organized a lecture for 11-12 grade ethnic Azeri students from Marneuli public schools at the Marneuli Youth Centre, Kvemo Kartli region. Kakha Gogolashvili, Director of the Centre of EU studies at GFSIS familiarized the ethnic Azeri youth with the visa liberalization issues as well as EU in general and challenges posed to EU due to Syrian crises.
The presentation was held in the scope of GFSIS series of lectures on EU related issues in Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti. The aim of the series of activities is to increase awareness on the EU, EU integration process and prospects of integration among ethnic minority representatives of Georgia, to forge a common understanding and vision of the Georgian state among the citizens of Georgia despite their ethnic origin and to promote a national integration process in line with the principles of modern, democratic state.
