On June 26, 2012 GFSIS and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace held a public discussion entitled “Toward a Euro-Atlantic Security Community.” The discussion focused on issues relevant to the Euro-Atlantic Security Initiative (EASI) and prospects for more inclusive and productive collaboration among states in the region. The speakers on the panel were Amb. James F.Collins, Director of Russia and Eurasia Program (CEIP); Amb. René Nyberg, EASI Commissioner; Dr. Archil Gegeshidze, Senior Fellow, GFSIS and Dr. George Khelashvili, Center for Social Sciences of Tbilisi State University. The discussion was attended by representatives of Georgia’s academic community as well as government officials and diplomats.
