On June 15, Rondeli Foundation organized an Award and Graduation Ceremony of the ”Community Youth Engagement in the Regions of Georgia” project held at the Adigeni public school. The winners of the final quiz of 2023 from the public schools of Adigeni, the village of Mokhe and Zarzma Academy received special prizes and a trip to participate in Rondeli Summer Camp.
The event was opened by the President of Rondeli Foundation, Ekaterine Metreveli, and awarded the winning students with laptop computers, tablets, and participation in the Rondeli Summer Camp. The ceremony was attended by the principals and teachers of the beneficiary public schools, as well as the Head of the Culture, Education, Sports, Monument Protection, Youth Affairs, and Tourism Development Service of the Adigeni Municipality City Hall, Zurab Betkhoshvili, who addressed the students and the school administration.
The main goal of the project is to promote the integration of local youth, raise awareness of domestic and foreign affairs and develop skills through informal educational programs and activities. As a result, 14-18-year-old public school students participating in the project, on the one hand, have the opportunity to better understand the state government system, and on the other hand – the planned activities increase the capabilities and resilience of young people and help shape their values for strengthening an inclusive, tolerant, and democratic society. The mentioned project has become a center of attraction for students living in the regions of Georgia for the third year already and brings together about 1,200 young school students from the mountainous Adjara and Adigeni municipalities. Cultural and social engagement of the project participants are facilitated through discussion clubs, quizzes based on the youth educational magazine ”My World”, tours in the capital of Georgia, and participation in the Rondeli Summer Camp.
The Rondeli Foundation’s ”Community Youth Engagement in the Regions of Georgia”; project has been implemented since 2019 with the financial support of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia.
